Virginia Run Elementary School first opened its doors in 1989 to address the needs of the rapidly expanding suburban community of Centreville. The present day Virginia Run Elementary School serves approximately 800 students, Head Start through sixth grade. The dedicated staff members are committed to providing each student a quality education. This can best be accomplished through a strong partnership between home and school coupled with a belief that children learn best when they are in a safe and challenging academic environment. An important component of Virginia Run Elementary School's success lies with our parent and community volunteers. The dedicated and active Virginia Run PTA provides direct support for school educational goals, learning enrichment activities, after-school programs, and a variety of family fun nights.
Virginia Run is proud to be a Responsive Classroom school, ensuring that academic and social learning occurs simultaneously and are viewed with equal importance. For more information about Responsive Classroom please visit: www.responsiveclassroom.org.
It is the goal of the entire Virginia Run community that our students become literate, self-motivated, well-rounded, independent learners who demonstrate responsibility to self and society. At Virginia Run we are "Exploring Today to Prepare for Tomorrow."
