School Summary

Sleepy Hollow Elementary was built in 1954 on a site that was part of Fort Buffalo during the Civil War. Located between Seven Corners and Annandale, Sleepy Hollow Elementary is a global community of students from numerous countries. Staff members are committed to providing meaningful experiences and a rigorous instructional program which empowers students to ensure their academic success and personal well being.

Having developed the practice of working in partnerships, collaborative teams meet weekly supporting teachers' efforts to identify essential knowledge and skills and standards for performance while analyzing student assessment data regularly to inform instruction. Close communication with parents ensures that teachers and parents work together to meet the unique needs of each child.

The PTA of Sleepy Hollow is active and supportive of the school and its programs. Through their generous contributions, daily instruction is enhanced by classroom volunteers and extra-curricular offerings that serve to expand and enrich students learning. Extracurricular opportunities, such as Dolphin Fun Zone, offer students a range of educational after-school enrichment classes designed to support school work and strengthen student interests and talents.
