School Summary

Colin L. Powell Elementary School first opened its doors in September 2003. By working in partnership, parents and faculty have created a strong partnership establishing traditions and ensuring our children have a safe, secure, and challenging learning environment.

Colin L. Powell Elementary empowers all learners to embrace new challenges with curiosity and compassion. The mission at Colin L. Powell Elementary is to create a learning environment that fosters high student engagement and inspires authentic learning; cultivate positive relationships, promote empathy, and celebrate diversity to recognize the value in all members of our community; and, develop resiliency and risk-taking by encouraging a positive, reflective mindset.

In August 2018 the faculty and staff proudly joined the Positivity Project, a national movement to inspire students to build positive relationships. In an effort to emulate the leadership of the school's namesake, General Colin L. Powell, students and community take great pride in sharing their many strengths and compassion for others.
