School Summary

Colin L. Powell Elementary School first opened its doors in September 2003. In the short period of time that the school has existed, parents and staff have created a strong partnership establishing traditions and ensuring our  children have a safe, secure, and challenging learning environment.

Our talented staff focuses on each child as a unique learner, recognizes the strength in individual diversity, and creates opportunities for students to reach their highest potential. The school's academic mission represents robust collaboration and a singular commitment to excellence through responsive, data-based instructional decision making. Learning is viewed as an interactive process by encouraging students to take an active role in identifying their strengths and areas of growth. Through differentiated instruction, curriculum adaptations, and a broad range of learning strategies, all students experience success.

Colin Powell Elementary School has a strong commitment to community service and environmental preservation. In an effort to emulate the leadership of the school's namesake, General Colin L. Powell, students and community take great pride in sharing their many talents and compassion for others.
