Please note, starting in school year 2021-22, The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) retired the use of the Discipline, Crime and Violence collection (DCV) codes and began to transition to Student Behavior and Administrative Response (SBAR) codes. Unlike the DCV collection, SBAR codes capture all the behaviors of each student in each event. Additionally, the administrative response to each student can include one or more behavioral interventions, institutional supports or disciplinary sanctions. Consequently, codes and reporting will look differently than prior years. Per the Code of Virginia (§22.1-279.3:1) school divisions statewide are required to submit data annually to VDOE on events of student behavior and the administrative responses to the behavior.
