School SummaryKent Gardens Elementary is dedicated to instructional excellence and partners with the community it serves. Parents and staff members share a common commitment to help students develop and grow socially, emotionally, physically and academically, focusing on the whole child. In alignment with the school mission, Kent Gardens works to challenge the intellect of our students to foster life-long learning, to enable students to meet lifelong career goals and to foster strong, positive relationships that are exemplified in our KG Pride code.
Kent Gardens' student population is diverse as it draws within the local boundaries, but also services students outside of the boundary for the French Immersion program. The partial-immersion program provides language instruction in mathematics and science/health. All students receive some type of French instruction through the arts/science/engineering special in French STEAM.
The school staff consists of dedicated, lifelong learners who continue to participate in professional development throughout the school year. The ongoing participation and leadership ensures that instruction is based on current research based best practices. Staff members regularly engage in Collaborative Learning Teams to ensure that all students' needs are met and children reach their full academic potential. Critical thinking for all students is embedded in daily instruction and is a strong component of our curriculum. All students participate in service learning opportunities to develop social awareness.
Kent Gardens' staff partners with our PTA in numerous activities. It is with PTA support that the students are engaged in numerous family activities, charitable endeavors and academic explorations.
Our mascot is the lion and it represents #KGPRIDE inspiring students to be patient, respectful, inclusive, doing their best and excited to learn. Our staff, parents and community all work together to build a successful, caring environment for our students.
