School SummaryGlasgow Middle School is an International Baccalaureate World School, authorized to deliver the prestigious IB Middle Years Program since 2003. Glasgow serves a richly diverse community. Students and their families come from over sixty countries, speaking more than two dozen languages. Staff members are committed to providing a gifted-quality education to all of its students-regardless of income, ethnicity, race, or educational designation. An award-winning international staff provides rigorous, individually appropriate instruction to meet the extraordinarily different needs of students with disabilities, limited English proficiency, and advanced academic readiness. Glasgow excels, however, at the challenge of opening the world of learning to students in the middle-those wonderful adolescents whose growing social, emotional, and intellectual powers have such great potential for creativity, inquiry, and action.
Glasgow's mission is to build a community of lifelong learners who are active, knowledgeable, and caring. Staff members teach young people as they prepare for the future by reaching new heights of academic achievement, growing in personal responsibility, and by making global connections, creating a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. Glasgow's work is grounded on the fundamental principles of holistic learning, the importance of all forms of communication (including foreign languages and the arts), and multicultural education.
Innovative programs, personal and group interventions, and networks of parent and community support help students to succeed to their highest level of ability and prepare them for advanced high school studies-and beyond that, for college, careers, and the real world.
