Located in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County, Edison is a reflection of the community with over 50 countries and 47 languages represented in its student population. The staff is committed to every student who enters the doors and recognizes that the students have a varied set of learning needs and interests.
The school offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma, IB Certificates for individual courses, and the IB Middle Years Programme. One of 5 schools in FCPS with an academy on site, our Edison Academy provides classes on technical skill development, trades, and work-force readiness. Individual needs are accommodated through special education, English for speakers of other languages programs, and advanced courses in all disciplines.
Staff members believe in preparing students to be well-rounded, successful contributors to the global community. Students are encouraged to become involved in the extended life of the school. From athletics, performing and fine arts, and many clubs and organizations, Edison students excel through their active involvement receiving numerous awards and recognition.
