School SummaryBraddock Elementary School is a traditional neighborhood school that offers a safe, structured, and welcoming learning environment. Braddock is a diverse school representing 29 countries and 32 languages! We believe that diversity is the key to our strength and therefore, we are always welcoming new members to our Braddock Family.
At Braddock Elementary School, we have four (4) operating principles:
- We believe in creating a safe, loving, and encouraging environment that cultivates mutual honesty, respect, and love of learning for students and the adults in the building.
- We believe all children are able to learn and improve their academic skills, and therefore we instill high expectations and the belief that students can be and do anything they dream.
- We believe parents and community members are an integral and valued part of the education process.
- We believe diversity is an asset to be valued and respected.
At Braddock, our staff believes in growing tomorrow's citizens today with passion, purpose, and possibilities. We do this by implementing current education research and best practices. Our instructional staff uses a challenging interdisciplinary curriculum, technology, a variety of learning tools, and community resources to address every child's academic level and learning style. We are an Advanced Academic Local Level IV School that offers the same level of rigor as the center. We are fortunate to have two foreign language Spanish programs at Braddock: Foreign Language for Elementary School (FLES), and Two-Way Immersion (TWI) program.
Working as a collaborative team--staff, students, families, and our business partners, form a partnership to support student learning. All members are invited to attend a variety of teacher-student developed presentations throughout the school year. Strong communication between school and home is fostered by monthly grade level newsletters, academic communiques informing parents of their child's academic and social progress, open forums with administrators, and an actively involved PTA.
