School SummaryPine Spring Elementary School provides a comprehensive program of educational experiences for all students preschool through grade six. The school emphasizes a cooperative approach to education; special education teachers team-teach with regular classroom teachers and implement a unique model of instructional delivery.
The richness of student diversity is celebrated at Pine Spring. Twenty-five countries and over 31 languages are represented within the student body. The English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) program offers these students an opportunity to develop their English proficiency while being integrated into the regular classroom. The staff and parents collaboratively make decisions that govern the function and focus of the school.
The mission of Pine Spring is to provide a quality education for all students. Improving the performance of all students in language arts, math, science and social studies is the focus of the Pine Spring school plan. Title I reading and math services, Reading Recovery and other intervention programs respond to the instructional needs of the students.
A high degree of community involvement is valued. Special attention is placed on outreach to and participation of parents in the total school program.
