School SummaryThe Fairfax County School Board voted to rename Robert E. Lee High School after the late U.S. Congressman John R. Lewis in July 2020.
The school opened its doors to serve the Springfield community in 1958. Rich in diversity, the school represents an exciting microcosm of the increasingly connected world in which we live. We recognize how fortunate we are to attend a beautiful school filled with teachers, staff, and students that respect and care for each other. Our students speak 25 different languages and represent over 61 countries.
Lewis High School is a community of student and staff learners. We take special pride in being an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School - offering coursework for the rigorous Diploma Program and Career Certificate. We have now added the Middle Years Program (MYP) for our ninth and tenth grade students. The curriculum of our courses, regardless of level , is designed to challenge our students with rigorous and relevant content. We offer a wide variety of courses. From challenging IB courses and the opportunity for students to earn the IB Diploma to courses leading to industry certification, Lewis strives to offer something for everyone. Our school has high academic standards and high expectations for our students.
