School SummaryForestdale Elementary School houses a variety of programs, including general education Kindergarten through sixth grade classes, a Family and Early Childhood Education program (FECEP), English for Speakers of Other Languages Program (ESOL), full day Kindergarten, Early Childhood Class Based Program (ECCB), Preschool Autism Class (PAC), Enhanced Autism classes, Reading Recovery, a Young Scholars program, and an Advanced Academic Program.
We are a school with an enrollment of over 620 students. There are more than 30 languages spoken at Forestdale, but our primary language is spoken with a smile and open arms. We are a learning community that feels like family. Here we believe in our children and their ability to reach and exceed academic excellence. Our faculty and support staff provides outstanding instruction to meet the needs of all students. Our doors are always open to families and community members. We embrace our diversity and accept the challenge of building strong minds, strong character and developing a strong sense of community.
Classroom teachers and resource specialists work closely together to provide a balanced and integrated curriculum for students. Much emphasis is placed on helping children use a variety of resources and tools for solving problems and formulating decisions. An active PTA supports extracurricular activities including field trips and cultural arts activities. The PTA and school staff also offers a variety of parent workshops and family-related programs. Thus, the entire school community works together to ensure that all students are provided with a safe, stimulating, and rewarding learning environment.
