School SummaryLocated in the historic Rose Hill section of Alexandria, Rose Hill Elementary School was built in 1956, and continues to be a vital part of the neighborhood. Our school has evolved over time to reflect and celebrate our ever diversifying community and is committed to providing a challenging curriculum for all students. At Rose Hill Elementary, ALL community members have pride passion, and high expectations for student success.
Rose Hill has created a unique and supportive learning environment where we work together and celebrate the growth of our students. As a Responsive Classroom School, we focus on developing language arts and math literacy, critical thinking, working cooperatively, social, and cultural sensitivity skills. Children from throughout the county are welcomed as a part of our Spanish immersion program and our Preschool programs. Each year the school organizes the Rose Hill 5K Run for Autism successfully raising awareness and funds for the Autism Society of Northern Virginia. We are proud of our ability to further meet the needs of children in several ways, including our integration of technology, a strong SCA and Patrols program, an outstanding music program, before and after-school remediation. The PTA is active and plays an important role in the Rose Hill family. The PTA's presence is felt as a positive force in the school as experienced through support of our academic programs, parent volunteers, technology purchases, professional development for staff, after-school activities, the extremely successful annual school play, and many family events throughout the year.
At Rose Hill we are responsible to one another and value that we are all in it together to ensure student success!
