Belle View Elementary School opened in 1952, nestled just off the George Washington Parkway in Alexandria, Virginia. Since that time, there have been many additions to the facility to accommodate student growth and boundary changes, most recently with our full renovation which was completed in 2022.
Our diverse student population provides teachers and staff with the opportunity to accommodate all learning styles, cultural differences, and abilities. To accomplish this, the educational priority continues to be on providing a strong academic program in the core subject areas, with a focus on FCPS' Portrait of a Graduate and our Strategic Plan through 2030.
In recognition that all students are capable of learning through excellent instruction, staff members ensure that students are given a solid grounding in core subjects through various means of engagement, representation, and action and expression. To promote academic challenges for all students, relevant resources are implemented such as the FCPSOn equitable access to technology initiatives, our new language arts elementary basal resources, and research-based social and emotional learning programs.
Belle View Elementary's Mission and Principles:
The needs of the students come first. We will meet their needs through unsurpassed collaboration. No one is big enough to work independently of others. The combined wisdom of one's peers is greater than that of any individual. We will use a teamwork approach, share our insights, and take a continuous interest in each other's growth.
