School SummaryTerraset Elementary School was built as a partnership between Fairfax County Public Schools and the Saudi Arabian government in 1976. The building design is unique and the structure was built into a hill as an energy conservation measure. The school completed a full renovation and opened its' brand new doors to students in the fall of 2016.
Terraset staff members are committed to supporting all students and families within the community through authentic and meaningful, student-centered learning experiences. Terraset is proud of its outdoor learning program, where students actively learn on the green roof and numerous outdoor learning spaces on the campus. Support for diverse learners is provided through programs including: Local Level IV Advanced Academic Services, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and special education services.
Terraset's vision is to provide a dynamic program that identifies the strengths and needs of the whole child and helps each child realize his or her greatest potential. To this end, each staff member demonstrates a personal commitment to achieve academic excellence for all students. Terraset fosters a school community that respects diversity and provides a safe learning environment. Ultimately, Terraset Elementary works tirelessly to develop and nurture every single child to his/her fullest potential.
During the school year an active PTO provides instructional support through cultural arts, community events, technology, classroom volunteers, and field trips, as well as fun and engaging after-school programs.
