School Summary

Centreville Elementary School Vision Statement:  Through Collaboration, Positive Relationships, and Engagement with our Students, Community, and Staff we will achieve SUCCESS!

At Centreville Elementary School relationships are at the core of our work as described in our vision statement. Our teachers engage students by creating a safe learning environment that encourages risk taking, goal setting, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. Centreville helps to ensure the success of all students by celebrating our diverse student population and recognizing each student as a unique learner.

Centreville Elementary School is proud of our participation in the Positivity Project which is an approach to teaching character traits with this mindset, 'Relationships are the cornerstone of health, happiness, and resilience'.  The Positivity Project provides our teachers with positive psychology's 24 character strengths that help us to empower our students to build positive relationships with the mindset that Other People Matter, #otherpeoplematter.

Recently recognized as one of the Top Ten Green Schools in the Nation, Centreville Elementary School is proud of our green efforts and special recognitions. We are now applying for our 4th consecutive Green Flag Award, and if we win this award we will be the only school in the nation to be awarded this special recognition. Our Green efforts have helped our school to reduce our waste and increase our recycling as well as promote outdoor learning through our outdoor learning spaces. We are immensely proud of our Green Team consisting of over 100 students and 20 staff members that meet weekly to educate and promote our Green efforts.

We have a wonderful PTA that bridges our school, family, and community by supporting cultural arts, field trips, special projects, technology, and a variety of after-school programs. At Centreville we believe that our enthusiasm for learning, school pride, strong work ethic, and ability to make positive relationships with students, families, and community helps us to ensure that every child loves coming to school each day in a fun and challenging learning environment!
